Meanwhile in Sweden of the Day: Gender-swapped Children’s Toy Catalogue
The latest holiday catalogue released by Sweden’s toy retail chain Top Toy is making some buzz for breaking the gender-role stereotypes in its product pages, which features girls with Nerf guns and boys with doll houses and Hello Kitty. According to Jezebel, Top Toy’s gender-swapped catalogue may have been inspired in part by the widespread debate over the issue of gender equality that has been ongoing for the past few years in the Scandinavian nation. Hat tip goes to The Mary Sue.
Joke’s on them. Kids can’t buy toys.
I think if a toy company whose customer base was largely coastal urban consumers did this too, they would make a fortune.

Sunday, by Frank Sinatra. Here’s a lesson on how to sing a song about the days of the week from the Duke. Dedicated to my grandfather this Father’s Day.
I’m blue every Monday, thinkin’ over Sunday
That one day when I’m with you
It seems that I sigh all day Tuesday
I cry all day Wednesday
Oh my, how I long for you
And then comes Thursday
Gee it’s long, it never gets by
And Friday makes me feel
Just like I’m gonna die
But after pay day, is my fun day
I shine all day Sunday
That one day when I’m with you
What we’re talking about is late night and early morning low clouds
with a chance of fog, chance of showers into the afternoon
with variable high cloudiness and gusty winds
Gusty winds at times around the corner of Sunset and Alvarado - Tom Waits
